They say the best things in life happen when you aren’t looking for them, but in our case, a little help from an algorithm didn’t hurt. In the spring of 2022, Eva and Matt matched on a dating app and immediately connected. Eva was intrigued by Matt’s profile, which showed how deeply he cared about human rights and the environment. In addition, he could talk about space, stars, and the cosmos for hours, which was great, since Eva loved the wonderful mysteries of the universe.

Matt was drawn to Eva’s adventurous spirit and love for the outdoors, but what really drew him in was her gorgeous smile and the cute little waving-hand emoji (👋) she included next to her height. It was sweet and quirky, and it told him everything he needed to know about her personality before they even met.

The first time they met was supposed to be a standard first-date dinner, but as soon as they sat down, the conversation just flowed and they quickly realized that being together was easy. The date continued past dinner; they found themselves at a pool hall, laughing and talking the night away. After the date ended, when a friend asked Eva how it went, she told them, “It was great!
